Job Description:
As an Air Sealer at Energy Diagnostics, you will identify and seal air leaks in residential buildings during construction to enhance energy efficiency and ensure compliance with energy codes. This role involves hands-on work using specialized tools and techniques contributing to reduced energy consumption and improved indoor air quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify areas of air leakage in buildings.
  • Apply various sealing materials to gaps, cracks, and openings in building envelopes.
  • Ensure proper installation of insulation and weatherization materials.
  • Collaborate with energy raters to meet energy efficiency and building code standards.
  • Document and report on sealing activities and improvements.
  • Operate and maintain sealing equipment and tools.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures during all sealing activities.

Energy Efficiency Analyst for HVAC Systems

Position Overview:
In this role, you will work from our Valparaiso office Monday-Friday from 8 AM- 4 PM alongside a diverse team of energy professionals. You will collaborate with various departments to support our clients’ needs. The ideal candidate will be adept at preparing ACCA Manual J, D, and S load calculations, sizing and matching heating and cooling equipment, and designing HVAC systems that comply with local energy code standards. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for designing both traditional and Rheia duct systems. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn are essential, as we provide extensive training to ensure success in this role. The ideal candidate wiill be comfortable reading blueprints, possess strong communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ACCA Manual J, D, and S Load Calculations: Perform precise load calculations to determine the heating and cooling requirements of buildings.
  • Size and Match Heating and Cooling Equipment: Select and size appropriate HVAC equipment based on calculated loads and project specifications.

Multifamily Energy Field Rater

Job Description:
Energy Diagnostics is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Multifamily Energy Rater. In this role, you will be responsible for performing onsite energy efficiency testing at multifamily housing projects across the country. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and developers to assess energy performance and ensure compliance with energy codes and standards throughout various phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct onsite energy efficiency testing and inspections at multifamily housing projects.

As a Multifamily & Commercial Energy Modeler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with energy codes and above-code programs for our clients. Working with design software, you will be responsible for taking off architectural plans, generating reports, and contributing to the optimization of energy design. While a background in construction or design is advantageous, it is not a requirement; your passion, flexibility, and willingness to learn are what truly matter the most. Key Responsibilities:

  • Building energy modeling: Using specialized software to create detailed models of buildings, including building geometry, construction materials, HVAC systems, lighting, and occupancy schedules, to simulate energy consumption and identify potential areas for improvement.

You will conduct a thorough analysis of utility costs and perform consumption modeling using a software program where you will design a digital 3D rendering of the housing units for our clients. A strong attention to detail is essential for this role. Comfort with computers and the ability to learn software programs is a must. Experience with construction, energy design, and/or architectural design is ideal, however, training will be provided, and an eagerness to learn will help the ideal candidate to succeed in this role.

You will conduct site inspections, collect and document data, review construction specifications, and create comprehensive reports. This position offers the opportunity to work in the dynamic field of residential construction while contributing to the success of our clients’ projects. This position involves a great deal of vehicular travel and therefore requires a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
