Home Energy Sealer: Multiple Openings in Illinois and Wisconsin

Job Description:
Energy Diagnostics is seeking a motivated individual to join our Home Energy Seal team as an Air Sealer. In this role, you will drive to homes under construction within northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin (Madison area), following a predetermined route provided each day. You will perform on-site air sealing services to improve the energy efficiency of newly built homes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-drywall and post-drywall air sealing to enhance home energy efficiency.
  • Conduct site inspections to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Track materials and maintain proper inventory.
  • Maintain assigned company vehicles and equipment to ensure reliability.
  • Represent Energy Diagnostics as a Brand Ambassador, upholding our commitment to quality and sustainability.

Location & Training Requirements

  • This position is based in northern Illinois and includes travel into southern Wisconsin (Madison area).
  • Energy Diagnostics is headquartered in Valparaiso, Indiana. Initial onboarding and training (2 days total) will take place at our Valparaiso office.
  • After training, you will be routed from your home each day to perform air sealing services in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.

You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and developers to assess energy performance and ensure compliance with energy codes and standards throughout various phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct onsite energy efficiency testing and inspections at multifamily housing projects.

This position involves a great deal of vehicular travel and, therefore, requires a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

In this role, you will be responsible for assessing the energy efficiency of newly constructed homes in western and central Michigan. You will work closely with project managers, builders, and contractors to evaluate energy performance and ensure compliance with energy codes and standards during various stages of construction.

As a Residential Energy Rater, you will conduct detailed onsite inspections, perform blower door and duct leakage testing, and use specialized software to analyze energy usage. Your expertise will help builders achieve their energy savings and sustainability goals while promoting better building practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct onsite energy efficiency testing and inspections at newly constructed single-family homes throughout Michigan.
  • Perform analysis to assess home performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with builders, contractors, and project managers to implement energy efficiency strategies and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national energy codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Travel to job sites within Michigan as needed; driving is required for this role.
