Home Energy Sealer: Multiple Openings in Illinois

Job Description:
Energy Diagnostics is seeking a motivated individual to join our Home Energy Seal team as an Air Sealer. In this role, you will drive to homes under construction within northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin (Madison area), following a predetermined route provided each day. You will perform on-site air sealing services to improve the energy efficiency of newly built homes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-drywall and post-drywall air sealing to enhance home energy efficiency.
  • Conduct site inspections to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Track materials and maintain proper inventory.
  • Maintain assigned company vehicles and equipment to ensure reliability.
  • Represent Energy Diagnostics as a Brand Ambassador, upholding our commitment to quality and sustainability.

Location & Training Requirements

  • This position is based in northern Illinois and includes travel into southern Wisconsin (Madison area).
  • Energy Diagnostics is headquartered in Valparaiso, Indiana. Initial onboarding and training  will take place at our Valparaiso office.
  • After training, you will be routed from your home each day to perform air sealing services in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing onsite energy efficiency testing at multifamily housing projects across the country. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and developers to assess energy performance and ensure compliance with energy codes and standards throughout various phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct onsite energy efficiency testing and inspections at multifamily housing projects.
  • Perform energy modeling and analysis to assess building performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement energy efficiency strategies and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with energy codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation of energy assessment findings.

Position Overview:
Energy Diagnostics is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated field Construction Quality Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring quality and compliance for new construction homes in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Northwest Indiana. You will conduct site inspections, collect and document data, review construction specifications, and create comprehensive reports. This position offers the opportunity to work in the dynamic field of residential construction while contributing to the success of our clients’ projects. This position involves a great deal of vehicular travel and, therefore, requires a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site inspections of new construction homes to evaluate compliance with industry standards and specifications.
  • Collect and document detailed data regarding site conditions, materials, and construction practices.
  • Review construction specifications and plans to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Identify and document any discrepancies or areas for improvement during site visits.
  • Create accurate and comprehensive reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to address concerns and provide solutions that align with client expectations.

As a Building Energy Modeler, you’ll transform 2D blueprints into 3D digital models, analyze how homes will perform, and help ensure they meet or exceed energy code compliance. Your work directly supports our mission to make every home a healthy, efficient, and sustainable one.

What You’ll Do:

  • Model and analyze: Use tools like SketchUp and energy modeling software to turn 2D blueprints into accurate 3D models.
  • Evaluate performance: Input detailed specs—insulation, HVAC, windows, and more—to project energy use and ensure compliance.
  • Deliver insights: Generate clear, actionable reports that help builders design smarter and build better.
  • Collaborate and problem-solve: Work closely with builders, architects, and project managers to achieve high-performance results.
